Foley ALC Enrollment Information
Applications may be obtained from the High School Guidance Office, the High School Principal, or at the Foley ALC building at 131 5th Avenue South, Foley, MN. Eligibility Criteria for enrollment in the Alternative Program are those listed for the Minnesota High School Graduation Incentives.
The Foley Alternative Learning Center has an enrollment of 15-20 full and part-time students, ages 16-21 in grades 10-12. The daily schedule consists of five 60 minute class periods meeting five days per week, 8:05am - 2:50pm (1 of the 5 periods is teacher prep. This prep period varies from trimester to trimester). Students may be scheduled in as many as 4 classes per day at the ALC and are encouraged to enroll in classes in the mainstream High School as well. Attendance is required every day on a full-time basis. Students must be a minimum of 16 years old to attend the Foley Alternative program and meet other enrollment requirements. Credits can be earned via traditional classroom instruction or through computer-based Independent Study. Independent Study gives the student the opportunity to "recover" deficient credits needed toward graduation in addition to the credits earned during scheduled ALC periods.
